Laser Hair Removal Before and After Skin Care
We are continuing our series of articles discussing before and after care tips for laser hair removal. Our previous article covered the importance of making changes to your skin routine in preparation for your hair removal laser treatment and to avoid exposing your skin to the sun or chemicals at least two weeks prior.
Nurture Your Skin
After your hair removal laser treatment, it is important to pay close attention to what is happening with your skin for the first 24-48 hours and act accordingly. If there is any redness or swelling, you may apply ice. Consider wearing loose fitting clothes so there is no rubbing or friction against your skin. You may use an unscented moisturizer if necessary.
Avoid Heat
Heat is not your friend, at least until 48 hours after your hair removal laser treatment. You should avoid taking hot showers, saunas, hot tubs. Stay away from steam rooms. Also, refrain from any activities that could cause your skin to overheat, such as exercising. Minimize exposure to the sun.
